PA (polyamide)
Standard plastic for versatile applications; good electrical insulation (20 kV/mm), moderate temperature resistance (-40°C to +85°C). Resistant to mineral and vegetable oils, but not resistant to gasoline. Absorbs moisture (up to 2.5%), which may affect dimensional stability. Ideal for mechanical engineering, furniture manufacturing, and general constructions.
PA 6.6
Technical polyamide offering +20% higher strength compared to PA6 and temperature resistance up to +100°C. Excellent dimensional stability and reduced moisture absorption. Resistant to fuels and oils. Used in automotive applications, conveying systems, and high-temperature environments.
Glass fiber-reinforced PA
Polyamide reinforced with 25% glass fibers for demanding mechanical applications. Provides +300% increased stiffness compared to PA6 and can withstand continuous temperatures up to +110°C. UL94 V-0 classification (self-extinguishing) makes it suitable for electronic use. Note: glass fibers reduce electrical insulation properties. Typical applications include precision machinery, electronics housings, and circuit board assembly.
POM (polyoxymethylene)
Engineering-grade precision plastic offering excellent dimensional stability (moisture absorption <0.2%) and high chemical resistance. Exhibits very good sliding characteristics (friction coefficient 0.2–0.35). Suitable for temperatures from -50°C to +90°C, with short-term peaks up to +140°C. High recovery force, ideal for snap and clip connections. Commonly used in medical and precision engineering applications.
Brass (CuZn40Pb3, nickel-plated)
High-strength metallic material (tensile strength >400 MPa) with outstanding dimensional accuracy. Operating temperature range from -200°C to +200°C. Electrically conductive (not insulating!), making it suitable only for mechanical spacing applications without insulation requirements. Extremely long service life (>5 million load cycles). Note: REACH compliance only if lead content is below 0.4%. Applications: heavy-duty mechanical engineering, precision optics, and specialized applications.
